Breaking dawn by Stephenie Meyer

When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved?

In this irritatingly slow-moving, yet compelling finale to the Twilight Saga, Bella has made the decision to marry Edward and join the world of immortals, despite Jacob’s love for her. But her decision sets in motion devastating consequences that even Alice is unable to foresee and none of them are prepared for; consequences that will reverberate across the immortal world.

This concluding book is somewhat of a let down. So intent on giving Bella and Edward the happiness they deserve, this final volume pales against the intense feelings of romance, temptation, loss and strife in the previous three volumes. Ending with too much plot, too fast, and the love triangle between human, vampire and werewolf, bitter enemies for generations, too easily resolved.

Daniel X Alien Hunter

Although I am not a frequent graphic novel reader, when I saw James Patterson’s new Daniel X series had a graphic novel out I had to read it.

The drawings are well done – even if Daniel doesn’t look like he does in my head :) - and the story was intriguing.

Following on from The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, our hero is now after alien number 7 on the list of alien outlaws hiding out on the earth. But the list does not have much to say about this villain, Daniel must risk the lose of new found friendship and use all his powers of creation to overcome this enemy.
